Knowing God Helps People To Understand Others

By Kimberly Sanders

There is a lot that goes on in the world that can clutter the mind. In a way, this is a good thing because technology plays a big role in the entertainment and information many people ingest every day. At the same time, the viral world can also be filled with negativity that can be emotionally and mentally crippling. While bad news cannot be entirely avoided, it helps to have some balance. People who say that knowing God can help with solving problems and maintaining sanity when it seems like the world is unraveling.

Growing up, many people have been taught to speak their mind, keep quiet, or tell the truth when it is convenient. What a person needs to look at is whether these behavior patterns have affected their relationships. Someone may realize their ways have hurt others or they were bypassed for an opportunity that could have had a positive impact on their lives. However, they fear change and sometimes expect others to conform to their character flaws.

This is not to be confused with merely saying the words or blindly accepting people who have bad intentions. The only way an individual can show genuine love is to treat themselves right first. Many people get this confused with indulging in shopping, food, or merely promoting themselves as some sort of superhuman that is better than everyone else. These are superficial things, as a person needs to get to the heart of things wrong in their life and ask God for assistance.

Simply going to church or reading the Bible is not enough, although it is a good start for finding answers to many nagging questions. There are many sermons and verses that shed light on life situations that are happening today. When people take a good look at themselves, they can see alternate solutions for handling personal problems. This is the result of accepting Jesus Christ into their lives and living His word.

While this theory sounds simple, there are many who get lost in the ills of life. They abuse their body with chemicals to survive a job that is stressful. More common is staying in a toxic relationship for fear of being alone. Many will do illegal things to get more money into their bank accounts and when those funds are gone, they will continue to rob another party until they cannot do it anymore.

Although this process can be emotionally or mentally cleansing, striving for perfection is unrealistic. In some communities, there is usually someone with a history of doing bad things but their transformation has resulted in them condemning others who have gone astray. This approach is not always proactive since people are different.

Before shelling out advice, it helps to listen first. Not everyone has traveled the same road but encouraging a person to take the positive road is one of the best gifts a person can receive. Sometimes, an individual may feel they are not worthy of a great life and being surrounded by positive people.

Breaking bad habits can be challenging, especially when someone has been doing it for years. Even if certain patterns still exist, just cutting back can make a big difference. This all starts by admitting flaws and giving those who may have been affected in the past a sincere apology, followed by a promise to do better. Change, no matter how minor, can help people build more solid relationships and have a better quality of life.
