George W. Bush served as the 43rd president of United States from 2001 to 2008. He is one of the main United States presidents whose presidency was surrounded with gossips, mysteries and rumors. There are various amazing and interesting facts that surround his life.

Bush is known to have been the first president who ruled in US and took part in marathons. Facts say that, Bush completed the marathon in 3 and three quarter hours. He is also known to be first president to have spent lots of time to participate in exercises such as running at the Presidential Retreat at Camp David.

He was the only president who supervised and played baseball. For example, he was the organizing director of Major League Baseball Team of Texas Rangers. Bush is also the only chosen leader in the world to have participated in a League. Additionally, he was the only US leader ever who people to play T-ball games within the White House Lawn.

Bush is as well the first president in history to have delivered speech in both English and Spanish. This was in 5th May 2005 during in the first Weekly Radio Address of the US President. Bush is known to have cherished eating deviled eggs, honey sandwiches, pretzels, peanut butter and grilled cheese sandwiches.

He is the first US president who took more unofficial trips, spend the longest vacation period and spend the largest amount of such trips. He is known on august 2005 to have spent five weeks on a vacation. When averaged, the total amount of money he spent per hour in these trips was between $ 56000 and $ 68000. He spent a total of 900 days which totaled to 2 years for the period of eight years.

At his early age, Bush spent some of his time taking drugs. For example, in early twenties, Bush was arrested with claims that he had been driving under the influence of alcohol. However, the amazing part is that his wife, Laura successfully influenced him to stop smoking in 1986. This was a transformational part because Bush never smoked since then.

The fact that Bush married one of the best ever first ladies in US was also other amazing facts about his life. It stated in history that, his wife Laura Bush was a very amazing woman who conducted herself courteously and throughout the eight years Bush was in rein; Laura has never embarrassed her husband or nation. When Obama was being sworn in as the following president after Bush, Laura proved to be the best lady by presenting herself courteously by welcoming Obama warmly.

These are just a few of the little known facts concerning George W. Bush. These facts base their details on the period between which Bush was in tenure and before he got the seat to be the US president. Some other facts also explain the amazing character of his wife Laura Bush who in the history of first ladies in US, she is known to be the best.
