Creating Effective Poverty Alleviation Programs

By Rosella Campbell

the gap between the poor and the rich in society these days have since been very wide and is still getting wider still. People are not able to gt the best quality of living that they are supposed to be getting, causing them to be buried under the quagmire. If one is to aim at developing the entire nation. Addressing this issue with the poor members of society has to be done.

Steps need to be taken to determine the right method that can be used to address this concern. Before Poverty Alleviation Programs are created and then implemented, there is still a need for the higher ups to get an idea about what is really going on, unless they get to have a full understanding of what the actual situation is, they cannot be expected to come up with good solutions.

Some people have this false belief that they can help alleviate the problem if they were to run charitable institutions that will provide for the needs of these people. That is wrong. Charity only cause these people to lose their will and their backbone to strive for themselves along the way. When charity is stopped, they left being back to their own miserable lives again.

It is a fact that most of the time, it is women that can easily fall into poor conditions. The statistics show that they tend to fall easily and more frequently when compared to how the men fare. In fact they constitute majority of those people who are living poorly. Making sure the discrimination against women is stoppled and gender equality is implemented is essential.

Access to employment is crucial, people cannot be expected to earn something that they can help to address their basic needs and beyond when they do not have the means to earn their income from the in the first place. The government has to exert the right efforts to come up with ways on how they can create more jobs that will be able to encompass more people too.

Issues such as hunger and malnutrition need to be properly addressed as well. You have to remember that people cannot be expected to function well when they are not nourished, when they are unhealthy. When people are hungry, they would not have the energy that is needed in order for them to perform the tasks that they have to perform.

Access to good health and health services need to be present for these people too. They cannot be expected to have the means to be better in their lives when they are unhealthy to begin with, they need to have the right access to hospital that will get them properly treated should they be afflicted with illnesses. Also, they have to have access to potable water supply.

Educational programs should be introduced too. It is always important to have an idea of the right educational methods that can be introduced to allow people to function better. Thus, they are confident that they will get the opportunity that are otherwise only available to the rich. Education equalizes people. Plus, it gives one better opportunity at landing a better job with better pay too.
