The Call For A Virginia Common Core To Be Implemented In Order To Save American Students

By Coleen Torres

Recent studies on the quality of education in American schools exposes apprehensive information on existing course curriculum. Implementation of an improved and uniform Virginia Common Core is necessary. According to the national systems architect, David Colman, a research study throughout the world reveals that American students are taught too many subjects with superficial knowledge.

Mr. David Colman, the national system's architect, expressed his opinion in a gathering in Norfolk. He says that a research study all over the world shows that American students are taught too many subjects superficially. He suggested fewer, higher, and clearer standards.

The department of education in the State of Virginia is in the process of implementing this curriculum since the last 10 years. It is a significant move, and a lot is expected from students. Their fresh and innovative minds have the capability to accept challenging information. The course has already been accepted, and is incorporated by many schools.

As far as mathematical skill are concerned, children fail to prove their analytical power compared to the world's standards. Parents considers this as a result of allowing the use of calculators throughout their formative years. Students become too much dependent on them and lose control of mathematical understanding. Their analytical reasoning power is compromised in the long run.

Not only is language a concern, but mathematical skills are also under doubt. Some other parents feel that the use of calculators from early stages of education has resulted in a poor understanding of the subject. They are also not encouraged to engage in critical thinking.

Parents often shift to different cities for better job opportunities in this day and age. This creates frustrations among children, since they need to follow a different and often more difficult curriculum in their new schools. If they aren't able to adjust to these new requirements, they lose interest in their studies.

For the successful implementation of the common course, parents' participation is most welcome. They may obtain details of the course from authorities, and evaluate its benefits and analyze the features critically. Effective criticism will add value to the course, and children will benefit from them in the long run.

In order to implement the courses designed for the common core, parents' participation and encouragement is essential. In case they differ with the common core curriculum, they can participate in thorough discussion with the implementing authorities, or join the discussion forums. However, before coming to a method, they need to be up-to-date with the existing teaching practices and the pros and cons.

In order to contribute to the implementation of the curriculum, parents need to upgrade their knowledge on the topic from reliable sources. Well-thought comments will help make the course stronger, and their children will be benefitted. Stray comments or biased views will only deter the process of generating a competitive curriculum.

The declining education quality is getting out of control, and more and more students need a proper system. Students suffer due to the faults of the curriculum. The sooner the new course is implemented, the better it is for the future generation.
