Tips For Shopping At The Estate Sales Tucson Has To Offer

By Coleen Torres

If you are a treasure hunter and are always on the lookout for distinct or antique items, you may quickly run out of regular sources. An interesting alternative is the estate sales Tucson companies put on for area residents. All it takes is a little time and effort to find these and then use your GPS to locate them.

Peruse the local newspapers and magazines for notices of these events. When you begin to attend these regularly, form strong relationships with the companies that put them on so they will give you notices of approaching events. If you live in a large city, you may even be able to drive around on weekends and locate signs announcing the newest ones.

Make a list or have an idea of what you are seeking so you don't get caught up in looking at items you do not need or don't have space for. It can be overwhelming to be face-to-face with a houseful of various items and furniture for sale so it is always best to be focused on only those articles that you are currently seeking for your home or business.

Always attempt to be early to these events. The first half hour of the sale is critical so you may want to get there at least 15 minutes to one half hour early. You may even find a line at the entrance when you arrive. As soon as the event begins, make a beeline for those items that you are looking for. Getting distracted could cost you the loss of a desired item to another customer.

If possible, return to the event at the very end also as the vendors will only be too happy to rid themselves of whatever items are left at very low prices just so they won't have to pack them up and put them back in storage.

Even if you are a shy person, always attempt to haggle over the price. Sometimes these companies will accept a reasonable offer. If you purchase many items, it can be prudent to ask for some kind of discount also.

Be aware that many older pieces of furniture, china and glassware are made of quality materials. For some articles, they just don't make them like they used to. Selecting a quality item may give the buyer a rocking chair, teapot or mirror that they will enjoy for a lifetime.

And don't forget about transporting your buys. The worst case scenario is when you find the article of your dreams and have no method of getting it home. Always show up with transportation for your finds. You may have a friend or relative with a truck or van so take them with you just in case. They may even find something that they love for themselves.

The sales you will find and attend are sure to be intriguing and fruitful. Being prepared, prompt and assertive will assist in finding deals and steals that you will enjoy for months and years to come.
