Steps To Fix Bleach Stain On Carpet

By Marci Glover

After cleaning the entire house to make sure that it is sparkling, one of the worst things to discover would be a big bleach stain right in the middle of the carpet. Unlike other stains, this big and annoying type is extremely hard to come off and will probably just stay there. Luckily, there is another way to fix bleach stain on carpet.

Now the very first step is to moisten the carpet a little bit. It should be a little bit damp because if a lot of dirt is present, it might get in the way of the fixing job. So for this, one does not need to really clean the whole thing but just make sure it is a little damp.

After one has already done this, then the very next thing that one should do would be to cut out a few fibers from the other parts of the carpet. If one would not want to spoil it, then another thing that he may do would be to cut on fibers from other carpets if he does have others in his house. He just has to make sure that the colors would actually match.

After doing this step, one should now cut out a piece of cardboard or index card and make it the same size as the affected area. With that, one should now stick the cut out fibers on to the cardboard or index card. Now the best way to do this would be to put some two sided tape on the card and then stick the fibers there one by one.

Now the next step in this process is to now get some paint for the job. The most effective would be acrylic paint as it is the one that would not be easily washed off. Of course one has to pick out a color that would really match.

After buying some paint, then the next thing that one should do is to cut out the bleached part. Now do take note that it is actually quite hard to take out the fibers of carpets so one does not need to take out the whole thing. All one needs to do here would be to use a pair of scissors to cut out the rather top parts and leave a bald spot there.

Since there is already a visible bald spot in the affected area, then one may put the index card with the fibers in there. Now one thing to take note of is that there is a possibility that it will actually not stick. To make sure that it sticks there, one may actually use super glue.

Of course the final step to this entire process would be to cover the entire thing with the acrylic paint. Now the purpose of doing this is to make sure that all the spots are finally covered and that there is no traces of the index card or cardboard anywhere. So once that is already done, just wait.
