The New Breed Of Heroes

By Evan Sanders

"A lion doesn't concern itself with the opinion of sheep." Game Of Thrones, George R.R. Martin

Our world is quiet brutal and destructive at times. Yes, there are times when it is soft and gentle but we can't deny what has happened throughout the course of our history.

But it isn't our world that is as vicious as the people who walk upon it. Every single time someone tries to rise there are thousands working against them to see that they fall. These individuals come out in hoards with the intent to sink their teeth into "the lights" back and tear him or her to shreds.

Unfortunately, our society is built upon trying to tear us apart from one another instead of bringing us together. We live in a day and age full of people who are able to hide behind their computer screens and comment on whatever they want without the consequences of saying it personally to ones face. The wolves run rampant in our world without much of an opposing force to quiet them down.

It's time for a new type of hero.

We need lions. Lions? Yes, men and women who are willing to root themselves firmly in their core values and principles and not compromise on them. We need individuals who are willing to stand for others greatness and live lives in such a way that inspire the hearts and minds of those around them.

When we find these individuals, we will have a grand force of positivity in this world.

Why is this important?

Because as a society we have lost our ability to believe in anything. It's not really our fault that every single time someone comes up in the world they fall for one reason or another. But if we have someone who understands that they aren't perfect and who doesn't attempt to be, couldn't that change the game?

This isn't going to be easy for those who take on this challenge. The great victories and defeats of life build these individuals though. They are morphed by their failures of the past and their grand ambitions. These are the people we need to bring the best out in our world.

It's about time we had people in this world who are doing things for far more reasons than simply things that they want in life. It's time for the unselfish hero.

It's the time of the lion. It's time for the extraordinary.

We need new heroes.
