The Salient Notes On Postpartum Doula Dallas

The wish of many women is to be mothers. Large percentage of couples also marries with the aim or goal of becoming parents at one time. There is great joy that comes with a baby to every mother. But this is not always the case for some new mothers basically because few days after delivering they develop a lot of moods swings. Postpartum Doula Dallas is an illness that should be taken seriously since it is affecting a lot of people.

There are a number of postnatal moods and also anxiety disorders. The types range from postnatal blues, postnatal Psychosis to postpartum depression commonly abbreviated as PPD. The most common is postnatal blues. It is estimated that more than eighty percent of pregnant women undergo this condition after giving birth. It is common for women who are giving birth to their first child.

It is estimated that ten percent of expectant women experience serious postpartum depression mostly in their first year. Many doctors in the past thought the condition emanated from significant drop or reduction of hormones in a woman body after delivering due to excessive bleeding. But for the third condition, that is postnatal psychosis it is less common and actually very severe compared to the other two.

During the pregnancy period, a woman body undergoes a lot of changes to accommodate the infant in the womb. So after delivery, the body generally tries regain its normal shape hence it experiences a lot of changes. These are the changes that bring about moods swing. The changes affect every mother differently and the duration is also very different from one woman to another.

Baby blues is though the most experienced condition by many women. This condition is not so severe irrespective of it being so common. The illness is believed to occur two weeks after delivery. The situation is not serious and hence there should be not cause for panic. The signs or symptoms to watch out for are mood changes, irritation, increased emotional reactivity and anxiety.

Treatment for postpartum blues is at times not necessary because the symptoms are not so severe. The symptoms are mainly mild and also non-impairing. The symptoms are experienced around two to three weeks postpartum. For women who have experienced afterbirth blues, they should take great caution not to fall into PPD. Baby blues should be taken as a precursor of probably some cases related to PPD especially for those women with history of mood disarrays.

To avoid such depression do the following. People are advised to research thoroughly on the issue way before delivering to be well-prepared. Some biological factors and also psychological factors and not forgetting relationship factors may lead to PPD. It is wise to also consider evaluating your medical record to see whether there is any medical condition that can contribute to PPD.

PPD is known to come about after four weeks of delivery. The condition can at least go for three months. The condition is also known to prolong further than three months to even fifteen months. The last type is Postpartum Psychosis basically not common but very chronic or severe. Symptoms of this illness include delusions, disorganized behavior, agitation, poor or low insights, hallucination and cognitive impairment.
