It will also ensure that your work is well punctuated and does not have careless mistakes. Your work may be used by different people and they should be able to understand the proceedings by reading your work.

Your reporting should not be biased in any way. When reporting, you should ensure that the case does not involve you in any way. When you feel that you may be biased because you are a subject to the case, you should avoid reporting altogether. When bias is detected in your work, you can easily loose credibility. Also a biased reporting may lead to the judges making decisions that are not fair.

You should maintain high confidentiality. You should also avoid discussing the case while out of court. This is because the decision of the lawyers may be influenced by your opinions. You are also not supposed to speak with the judges as you may influence or change their decision towards the case.

You should also have short hand writing skills. When the courts are in session, these clerks are expected to note everything that is taking place at the speed at which it is taking place. Short hand writing skills allows you to write in short phrases which you can later expound on when the courts proceedings are done. You can learn these skills by going through training.

Being assertive is also an important attribute for the reporter. You need to have the boldness to stop the proceedings and pardon the speaker. This will ensure that you capture all the important details.
