To counteract this, every man should know about the Baker Act rights as they can help during this circumstance. In orienting you more about it, information about it is made available here today.

First, Defend the rights of nationals with mental sickness. It is a law which aims to protect the mentally retarded people out there who seem to be losing their rights. As a a patient, they would be provided with enough supplications for their needs. With that, improvement in their well being is accomplished. Their population would gradually diminish in number.

Second, Ensures public safety. If they are not admitted to a place where they belong, then they can create disturbance to normal beings. Or worse, they could kill someone because of their running emotions that time. Dying from the hands of a mentally ill person may occur prevalently. These unfortunate events will be addressed by the government to help the concerned citizens of the country.

Providing appropriate treatment. As what is mentioned earlier, some hospitals abuse their patients because they might not know the real needs of that individual. So, patients end up dying without the required treatment for them. This should be stopped. Appropriate procedures need to be done should be available to the affected person. He will get improvement and may have the chance to cure himself if that is possible in his condition.

Four, Nominating of someone to look after. Another provision of this law is to have the government nominate someone who would give care to the patient. They will look for the suitable individual for the job. Especially when the family is poor, they are prioritized to get the help they need. Salary and hiring process will not be a problem because they are eliminated in this procedure.

Fifth, People against their will may be confined. This first drawback on this is having the right to confine someone who does not need it. The thing might be affected those persons who are having conflicts. As a result, they would call the authorities to forcefully confine someone who is not ill in his mental aspect. Freedom of that person is violated because this provision is stated on the law itself. This feature is still debatable as of the moment.

Caregivers would misuse it. In this case, the caregivers have also the right to get rid of their patient. He or she may misuse the law because of selfish pleasures. Not knowing, the ill being would just be taken away without him knowing that the authorities are getting him out of his own house. This inefficiency of the regulation is still not being addressed. No one knows who might be telling the truth.

Seventh, Convenience measures to somebody. The third and the most gruesome inefficiency of this act. The family of the mentally ill being may call governing office to confine their relative so that they may cut there expenses.
