However, they cannot approach spots that have no scent of their feces because they know it is a trap. To outsmart them, ensure you drop some of their feces across areas that you have put your bait.

No matter how strong your baiting smell might be, the bears will know of your presence through your scent. These animals have a strong sense of smell, and they can figure out the smell from detergents, foodstuffs, cigarettes, urine, and perfumes among others. Therefore, buy scent control detergents and use them in washing clothes that you wear during hunts.

Although black bears are not known to attack, it is good to take some safety precautions. An animal under attack will do anything to save its life, and you must be careful. Play dead when you find yourself surrounded or speak in loud voices. As such, the animals will be scared and will not come near you.

Another safe mechanism of catching black bears is by using trail cameras. The apparatus is cheap and can be purchased in major stores across the city. They capture and send images of the animals helping you identify the spots that have them in plenty.
