The Benefits Of A Wine Barcode

By Hilda Durham

Maybe you have noticed that every item you purchase in a store has a label with stripes across. This is very important for every item, since it consist numbers. The cashier mostly scanned the items and each price for the product comes up. These labels are usually called barcodes. These labels provide several uses for an item. A wine barcode is also stamped for every bottle. This is important for all retailers to have an easy access, especially in their inventory process by only scanning the bottles. This is very useful in the wine cellar management.

The labels on the bottles are also known as the EAN barcodes are representing a sequence of numbers from the origin of country, the company and the numbers chosen by the winery in representing the beverage. The numbers do not necessarily more descriptive. To utilize barcodes, there are databases created or purchased in looking for the greater meaning of the barcodes.

There are several beverages introduced to the market that makes a shortage for a single database. Some wine software cellar programs create a database intended for barcodes. However, some of these wines are not yet available or purchased in the market.

To start the extracting the data of information, scanning the first bottle is necessary and make entries for data. The next bottles will be scanned also through the marker scanning and the enter its vintage to have a full data field.

It is important to enter the best beverage, since there are lots of winery companies, that fails to have a distinction for its label. There are also wines sold that has no barcodes and the qualities are unrecognized. This makes the bottle labels to be insufficient in the stock management of the cellars. That is why the second labels are carried to the bottle tags to complete the process of inventory.

Neck badges and self adhesive wrap tags are pre printed. Every tag has a unique number with a marker that replicates the number. These tags are created with details and information about the wines. The philosophy here is that every bottle is identified by their unique number and the label on tags is an assurance of accuracy and speed.

The scanners are very useful, especially in scanning for bottles to increase speed of the entry level of new wines to the cellar. When the new wines are already entered in the database, the number tags are also utilized for the bottles in a cellar.

The seven digit number in the badges and specifically the last three numbers can be easily read in the light of the cellar. A cellar software selects a beverage reading the badges. Once you open the bottles, you put the tag in a secure area. After that, you can take the tag to the computer using the scanner and remove the wines.

If there are badges in the cellars that are not totally used, it could also affect the entire inventory process. This is possible if a tag lacks and some opened beverage bottles are not recorded. This will automatically lead to an inventory breakdown. This makes the process to fail.
