Christian Education Principles For Teachers To Help Students

By Carol Nelson

You should count yourself lucky if you find yourself in the teaching profession. This is because apart from giving them basic academic knowledge, you are also in the position to chart the course of the future by bringing up those who will govern the states tomorrow. Because this is no child's play, it is necessary that you attend workshops or seminars where you can learn some Christian education principles for teachers. Doing this will help to make the job less tasking as you would get to know many things that are needful.

A teacher who wants to be successful should have a sense of mission. This means that he is not just seeing himself as someone who is there to fend for himself but rather, as someone who has been placed there by God to make a difference. This means that even if he wants another job, it should be in another school that is probably bigger.

A Christian teacher whose major concern is to do his best for Christ is likely to do much better than one who is striving on his own to attain perfection. Thus, the teacher must be prayerful and commit his ways to the Lord. As he attains any level of success, he must give the glory back to God who can help him do more in the future.

Teachers are also encouraged to love their students. This is the kind of love that is beyond having a relationship. So, it doesn't matter if the child's parents are your close friends or not. A Christian teacher should make himself ready for his students to approach him. This is important because as they easily come to you, you get to know more about them including their personal lives.

Although teachers would be better off with a pay rise, it should not be their major concern. Even if their salaries are quadrupled, it still wouldn't be enough to commensurate with the sacrifices they make just to make sure that children are nurtured. With the little a Christian teacher is paid, he should be able to provide his basic needs and also lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Students love teachers who are humble than any other. They feel they can easily approach them when they are in utmost need even without following protocols. Instead of disrespecting them, they gain more of their respect and are even ready to do anything for them even when it is inconvenient. The students also learn from their teachers this necessary virtue.

A teacher who has no genuine relationship with God may not go far. First, these important principles will be hard to practice or he may not even have them at all. A teacher who relates well to God is also more protected from the risks of the teaching profession.

There are several other principles a teacher should have so as to go far in his career. Apart from these ones, there are others he should learn by going to seminars. Nobody gets success just by being lucky but rather, it comes from being committed to whatever one does in so many ways.
