How To Decorate Effectively Your Hen Party

By Jack Wogan

No decoration would be effective in your hen party room, unless observing the theme chosen and the outfits sported. Therefore, if you mean to have a feminist party with empowered women able to transform into anything they want from their usual appearance as objects of desire, for this alchemy to happen, you'd certainly need some witch den and sexy witch costumes.

You don't need to see 'The Princess and the Frog' or to read Andersen's tale about the mermaid asking a witch to transform her fishtail into some woman legs, to be aware that witches are in love with boiling revolting things and being surrounded by snakes, rodents or spiders. Under these circumstances, given that all your guests are witches wearing sexy witch outfits, it would help to keep an immense black cauldron in the middle of the round table, and, for some splash of color, to have some neon partyware, such as plates, glasses, pitchers or napkins.

It's quite advisable to use some black mini flags, pirate style (with a skull and two crossed bones) at the entrance, for keeping paparazzi away, and to keep your snake or mouse pets at home. No one would complain, though, of your using as much spider web as you want, in the form of some spider web capes to be hung on the walls. And it would certainly work as wall decoration to hang also some black masks with feathers, black devil horns, black fallen angel wings and even neon wings, for some contrast. Some tattered pages with illegible spells shouldn't miss either. As for some inflatable witch broom, it could work, if hung from the ceiling, right below the neon light and right above the huge cauldron.

Regarding your witch hats with twigs, they could be matched by some tall black twigs in vases and, for some sheen in this Gothic setting, you could apply some diamantes to your very face, in the same shade as the table stone diamantes. With the black tutus with neon frills in whatever hue, you may be sure to have both darkness and glitter around, so fitting for your Halloween witch costumes.

While your equality as witches is indisputable, as shown by your placement at a round table, it might be useful to have some piece of identification, in the form of some hen party sashes on the back of your chairs, indicating whether you are the good witch, the wicked witch, the black widow one and so on and so forth. At least, for helping you choose appropriate conversation topics with your neighbors.
