Illinois is one of the states where divorce cases are growing in number. Access to divorce certificates is also increasing. Requesting for an Illinois divorce record is not a very simple process.

One has to follow several guidelines in order to get a copy of a divorce certificate. Although, a divorce record is a public document, only the involved individuals as well as their immediate family members are allowed to get a copy of the document. In the event that one has to access the records of other people, an authorization letter or a court order has to be presented. The requesting individual has to present information about the divorce record that is being requested to make the search easier and faster. If certified copies are needed, one has to visit the county clerk office where the divorce was registered. One can also send a mail order but the document can be obtained after a few days thus it is not the fastest method there it. To avoid waiting for days, one can use the Internet to search for the record.

Divorce records public access has been made easy when it is done over the Internet. It has eliminated the need to go to much office since it can be requested even without leaving home. With this, it is far more convenient and faster compared to any other methods available.
