My husband and I have really enjoyed growing old together and so far we have been so blessed to have avoided any large health problems, but just recently we began to notice that we having a hard time doing all of the things that we had once been able to do, so we determined to see what independent living Phoenix could offer. We liked Phoenix because we knew it would be warm there and we wouldn't have to deal with all of the perils of the cold weather, and I knew I would be particularly glad to not have to shovel snow anymore.
Probably the biggest draw that Phoenix had for us was the fact that our daughter and her family lived down there and we could hardly wait to be close enough to them so that we could see our beloved grandchildren all the time. Our daughter kindly offered to find a great place for us to live by looking into what options for independent living Phoenix had, but we figured we wanted to choose a place ourselves, so we went online to see what was out there.
My husband and I are rather slow when it comes to using the computer, but after a little while we figured out what we were doing and were able to find some wonderful senior communities in the area. As we read more and more, we finally felt that one particular community stood out to us as a place where we could spend our golden years in relative independence with help available if we needed it and some of our basic needs cared for.
We called our daughter and told her that we were planning to come out for a visit and we wanted to plan a time when we could go take a look at this place and see if it was really as fantastic as it appeared. The tour of this community went wonderfully and we were extremely impressed, not only with the housing and other facilities, but with the staff as well and we knew that we would be in good hands.
We truly enjoyed our visit there, and when it came time to leave, we were pleased to be able to tell our grand kids that we would be back again soon and that it would be for good this time. Once we were home, we set about getting our belongings ready for the move and putting our home up for sale, which was a little bit sad, but we were simply too excited to live in the best senior housing Phoenix had to offer!
