Part Of The Messianic Congregations NYC

By Dominique Martin

The acceptance of Jesus as the savior of Israel and mankind has brought Jews and non-Jews together. These are people who believe the He died on the cross to atone their sins. The list below contains messianic congregations NYC but is not conclusive. There are groups and ministries being formed from time to time and are therefore not included in the list.

Beth El Congregation is based in Manhattan. It offers teachings on the Jewish way of life and is conservative in style. It is located at the Two Testament Synagogue on Park Avenue in the Upper East Side of New York City.

In Clyde, there is Messianic Family Fellowship that is founded on the principle of family union. It is formed by families that have responded to the call to join the ministry of Christ. Though its operations have not been accredited yet to warrant tax exemption, it receives donations from members and well wishers. These donations are used in ministry expenses and to support development of structures for the ministry. The congregation receives spiritual direction and leadership from Joel and Julie Allen.

Adat Chaim Congregation ministers from Lake Katrine and is open to gentiles and Jews alike. It gathers people who believe that the covenant of Jesus Christ is the source of blessings. The power of the Holy Spirit keeps the congregants together. The members give real life testimonies of how God the Messiah manifests in their life. It is a forum that is open to visitors as well.

Seed of Abraham is a gathering of Jews and gentiles justified by the words of Ephesians 2, 13-16. In this scripture, Christ invites even those who never regarded themselves as heirs of the kingdom of God. Their operations are in Albany where they join others with similar believes from different locations around the world.

Congregation Beth El of Manhattan has chosen teachings, books, outreach and music as their signature tools during ministry. The congregation comprises of Jews and non-Jews living in the area and visiting NYC. They share the common belief that Jesus was the savior prophesied to Israelite. This is the message shared by other messianic congregations around the world.

Congregation Shaar Adonai is based in New York and open to Jews and gentiles from all parts of the world. It is a response to the call to be one new man. Members of this congregation worship the God of Isaac, Jacob and Abraham. They also proclaim Jesus Christ as the messiah who was promised to Israelites as their savior.

The Jewish tradition to which these congregations subscribe is based on biblical teachings. It also is highly influenced by the traditions of the Jews. The belief in Messiah Yeshua does not mean abandoning the Jewish identity or culture. This is a spiritual endeavor that seeks to bring everyone closer to God in a unique way.

The reference to congregation indicates people who are working and living together even though their social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds differ. They support each other emotionally, socially and spiritually. The common belief is in the God of Abraham. They are a testimony of commitment to one another. Each group is part of a large congregation that is spread allover the world.
