Illinois Public Arrest Records

By Ben Kingsley

Should you wish to delve deeper into the significant information of an individual in Illinois, checking over Illinois criminal records can be a good idea. Criminal records are documentations of people who have committed crimes, felonies, or any misdemeanor. As such, this can really be a great tool for you to know more about a particular individual before even trying to establish rapport with that person. Criminal records in Illinois can be accessed from Illinois State Police, Bureau of Identification.

All criminal records kept by the Illinois State Police are made available to the public through the state's Uniform Conviction Information Act. Since it is accessible by any member of the public in need, obtaining a copy of such won't be very difficult. In requesting for a criminal record, you can either do it through a non-fingerprint or a fingerprint request. Each request form has a specific control number which you have to record as such number is used in tracking the status of your request.

In paying for your criminal record request, you can either pay through check or money order to the Illinois State Police. Modes of payment other than these two will not be accepted and only one name for each request is allowed. Maiden names must also be provided on a separate appeal together with the corresponding fee. If you wish to demand for multiple searches, you must submit all the requests together with the single check or money order in the exact amount to cover the total costs.

For non-fingerprint request form, you have to provide the data of the person whose record you want searched such as the first and last name, gender, date of birth, and ethnicity. You also have to include any aliases in your search request, as well as a woman's unmarried name if it's a woman you're investigating. The fee to process a non-fingerprint request is $16. The fee for all checks not drawn on United States Banks is $30.

On the other hand, if the results provided by the non-fingerprint search seem not sufficient and informative enough, you can try the other kind of search which is through fingerprints. For fingerprint-based requests, you have to submit the significant information about the person you want inspected such as the complete name, birthdate, gender, and ethnicity. Aside from these, you also have to submit a copy of that person's official fingerprints. Fingerprint-based search costs around $20. For checks not drawn on any US banks, you are to pay $50 instead of $20. A search using fingerprints is by far the most comprehensive search among others as it yields a more accurate results thereby confirming positive identification of the individual to whom the fingerprints belong.

Furthermore, if you wish to acquire the criminal record or arrest record in a more practical way, pulling a quick online criminal background check is something that you can do. The number of online service providers today is relatively high thereby providing online users with wider options in looking for the best online service provider to hire. Unlike the traditional method of acquiring records, doing it online will not only save you time but also money and effort. Simply search for online service providers in the web and choose which you think is best to hire. Service providers range from free to fee based. However, if you are after the quality, then you are better off with the one that charges a minimal fee but provides comprehensive and accurate results in a faster and more expedient way.
