Reliable Breeders Offering Cavachons For Sale

The cavachons for sale are a crossbred product of 2 pure breeds of small sized companion dogs. They are quickly growing in popularity. This hybrid dog breed is bred by crossing Cavalier King Charles and Bichon Frise spaniel breeds. The pairing of these two species is meant to create the reduced hair shedding trait of the Bichon Frise pairing it with the superb temperament of both species. Interested people must be mindful this hybrid does not like absence of companionship over extended periods of time.

This designer breed was introduced in 1996 for the very first time in the Unites States. It is perfect for apartments and households with young children and other animals. It is not appropriate guard dog material. As a hybrid, there is no breed standard. However, a basic description of expected physical and temperamental features has been put together by the Cavachon Club of America. Future owners should be prepared for regular grooming.

This new hybrid is one of several hybrids created for certain desired attributes. In this era of growing allergy sufferers, it has been bred to possess a coveted low shedding attribute. As a cross breed, it has a more replenished gene pool than pure breeds. When bred responsibly it is relatively healthier as a consequence of this replenished gene pool.

The colors of the Cavachon coat generally follow shade variations inherited from Cavalier ancestry. Cavaliers have 4 shade variations. These 4 shades encompass a tricolor mixture of white, black and tan, the Blenheim combination of white and chestnut, a solid red Ruby color, in addition to a black and tan shade mix. The hair is a wavy silky texture. The water spaniel Bichon Frise, species, has a predominantly white colored double coat. This shade is not seen in most progeny. But, Cavachon puppies have inherited the targeted traits of this parent breed. This also means only frequent grooming will stop matting.

Adults will vary from ten to fifteen inches in their height. They will weigh between ten and twenty five lbs. There is going to be some variation in inherited characteristics, as this is a hallmark of such hybrids. But generally there will be minimal variation from the fundamental description provided by the hybrid club.

Ears and eyes are special areas of health concerns. Otherwise, the hybrid tends to haves similar health issues as other small dog breeds. It will hypoallergenic to some extent and will cause less reaction in people with dander allergies. However, it is advised that prior to purchase tests be done to confirm the selected puppy will not trigger allergic reactions.

As there is no approved collection of breeding programs, the burden of evaluation lies with the customer. Personal visits should not be shirked. A lot can be revealed in a visit. A valuable checklist provided by the Humane Society can be used as a guide. This guideline helps extract useful information.

Health problems that may be problematic are heart problems, hip dysplasia, skin sensitivities, ear and eye infections. First generation crosses tend to be more reliable in possessing the low coat shedding Bichon Frise trait. Their life expectancy should match that of their parent breeds. The sweet natured, lovable cavachons for sale on the market will easily become beloved members of the family in a short space of time.
