Mound Key Archaeological State Park is home to the Calusa Indians and believed to be their capital city of old. It is located in the heart of Esteros Bay where the natives made use of the seashells to build their homes and make items of utility. The island itself is literally made of the shells themselves and a lasting tribute to the original inhabitants who built the structures after building the island.

They say you won't believe just how pristine the beaches are at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park where a literal world of tropical paradise exists for your arrival. The Cocohatchee River helped create this wonderland where people go snorkeling the reef, boating and fishing in designated areas, help themselves to bird-watching at its very best. You can even rent sand wheelchairs if you call ahead.

Clam Pass Park offers 35 acres of fun in the sun enjoy along with natural Mangrove forests far from the upscale hustle and bustle of such places as Vanderbilt Beach. Here at Clam Pass you find a boardwalk that is three-quarters-mile long and the perfect place for seclusion. Enjoy watching and taking pictures of the marine life as it is born and nursed into maturity to repeat the cycle of nature.

The Black Island Trail Walk is dog friendly at Lovers Key State Park where your four-legged friends are welcome to accompany you for a day of nature and sun and sand. You will find beach access, kayaking, and fishing at this park. The beach is nicely secluded and about 1000 feet from the public parking where a shuttle service is available to bring you closer to the clutter-free beach.

RVers are known to frequent Lowdermilk Park where they find both unmetered and metered parking slips. There is a beach permit required but that only helps ensure the beaches stay clean and beautiful for many generations to come. It offers a pavilion for rent, two playgrounds, two gazebos, a concession stand, volley ball courts in the sand, and picnic tables for outdoor dining.

Sometimes people come to the Parks in Naples Florida and simply do not want to leave.
