The Do's & Don'ts Of Linkedin For Long Island SEO Success

By Rob Sutter

LinkedIn is understandably looked at as one of the more valuable social media platforms for professional purposes. It can go far beyond the creation of a resume, if you'd like it to. However, in order to truly make the most out of it, there are certain things that you should know. Different steps can be taken, so that you can make headway in Long Island SEO. In order to do so, make sure that the following do's and don'ts are taken into account.

DO complete your profile in full. When you first create an account on LinkedIn, according to names like fishbat, you must look at how your profile is completed. Everything from a high-quality picture to every last detail of your employment history will allow the profile in question to stand out. When even a single component is left out of the equation, you will not see as much engagement. Of course, this is just one of several tips that can lead to Long Island SEO success.

DON'T fall back on buzzwords. LinkedIn, like other social media platforms, has its own collection of buzzwords that you'll find time and time again. "Dynamic" and "driven" are among the guilty parties, meaning that you should try to avoid using these in your own content. Ultimately, these terms offer nothing, as it's your own skill set that possible connections will be focused on. Don't resort to empty words; you'll be better off as a result.

DO join groups that are relevant to your industry. Long-time LinkedIn users will probably tell you that groups are worthwhile to join. There are many reasons for this, one of the most prominent being the sharing of content. Seeing as how these groups tend to attract many users, the content in question will be better absorbed across the board. You'll also be able to gain new connections, which makes this proposition all the more valuable.

DON'T think that your profile shouldn't be modified. LinkedIn profiles come in many forms, but the best ones are those that are current. Users are going to find new jobs in their respective fields, or maybe they'll develop new skills that they didn't have when they first created their accounts. These details should be included in their profiles. As a result, the profiles will be of higher quality, which will make it easier for you to secure connections.
