Effortless Tips For Training Pomeranian Puppies To Act Appropriately

By John Jeffery

Anyone who has recently adopted one, may feel that training Pomeranian puppies is an impossible feat. The dogs are one of the most popular breeds due to their playful attitudes and adorable furry bodies. However, the high energy level often leads to outbursts of bad behavior and disobedience. Being able to modify such actions is the only way to keep peace in the household and reduce the risk of tension building within the family.

When adopting a new dog it is vital that they are trained from the moment the animal comes into the household. If they are left to behave badly, for a prolonged period of time, then it will be more difficult to teach them right from wrong. Starting a strict regimen immediately is the best choice.

Teaching dogs where they need to potty is one of the most problematic situations that pet owners must deal with. The best way to accomplish this feat is to place the animal inside a small crate that is placed within an area where the pup can see everybody. Keep them there except during meals, when playing or going outside.

About once every hour, put a leash on the pet and lead them outside to an area that is appropriate for them to use the bathroom. Once they have done their business, praise the dog and show it some love. This will reinforce the fact that the potty area is outside. Over time, the pet will understand that they are supposed to use the great outdoors for such things. In a few weeks, it will be safe for the dog to roam about the house freely without the limitations of a crate.

One important thing that every pet owner needs to remember is that no animals should be reprimanded or scolded when they have an accident inside the home. Another common mistake people make is to rub the pet's nose in a mess once it is discovered on a rug or carpet. Remaining calm is the most appropriate method of dealing with such situations when they occur. Take the dog outside to show them where it is alright to use the bathroom and in only a short amount of time they will stop having little mishaps.

Another big issue that people have with animals is a lack of socialization. This is easily remedied by simply introducing them to other people or dogs and allowing time for adjustment. Some people accomplish this by going to the park while others prefer setting up play dates with friends who have pets.

Many pups have issues with biting and nibbling on everything. Although this is a behavior that is completely natural for them, it is important that they learn not to do it. Sit down in the floor and rub the dog's belly or gently play with them. The moment the animal nips get up, without making any eye contact, and walk away. Doing this will show them that behaving in such a manner will not be accepted.

Using the appropriate methods will help make training Pomeranian puppies a simple task to accomplish. The most vital detail to remember is that patience is a must when it comes to teaching new behaviors. The pups are nothing more than children that need to learn how to act and what not to do.
