I use the suction cup I don't really see why I would use the vent one although now that I think of it on the driver side vent it might be a good idea. I also don't use the little stick on thing for the suction cup because I have a window and it sucks onto that SO WELL! I've used it less than a week and I am not sure about lasting durability, though the product seems to be made very well. I cannot comment on the vent attachment or the dash attachment as I didn't use them. Very adjustable, and it does not obscure the camera, so you can use your phone as a dash cam if you'd like. Biggest complaint is the quality of the plastic. As soon as it arrived I mounted it to my heater vent and took it for a test drive. I am amazed at how well it holds my Droid Incredible 2 while bouncing down our local dirt roads filled with pot holes and recommend to anyone in need of an easy to use mount especially if you use your phone as a GPS unit. I find myself having to push it back down on a fairly regular basis. I'm guessing in the near future I'll have to do away with the mounting pad completely and look into just using the suction cup to mount it to my windshield or some other mounting option. I would replace it with the same unit if it failed. AC clips don't work all that great in the Ford Focus, but that's okay.
Holds my Samsung Captivate phone secure and stays on the dash or vent. I was able to rotate the mount in all kind of ways, until I secured it the way I want. I have tried several but the clips were never long enough to reach all the way through to the back of the vane. This worked perfectly. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the vent clip mount (which I was using while waiting for the suction cup) is not that great. It connects, but it's very wobbly.
The suction is very strong and doesn't wiggle at all. The vent mount is kind of flimsy and if your vent vertical movements are loose, the weight of the phone will definitely pull it down.
This product fit my Galaxy S2 with no problems. If you can find this cheap, it is a really good buy! I tried many other mounts but was not happy with them. Many others have a flexible arm that bounces when driving.
Works well with my Droid X. No problem having the power plugged in and the audio jack used at the same time.
I'm using it in the car for my Droid X. Can use while phone is still in case. This product is much better than a similar item I recently tried that cost just a few dollars less. This unit fits very well in the vents of the circular mini cooper, No adjustment needed at all Very happy with unit strong spring that holds unit in as well.
