You see one of things that we need to remember when the New Testament was being written is there was no New Testament, there was no canonization of the New Testament. The majority of it didn't get written for 40 to Six decades after the Messiah died. These letters learn to circulate and become canonized and even some of them hundreds years after that.
In Timothy's writing, he states all Scriptures that God created were worthy for proof and doctrine and correction in the way of righteousness. The only Scripture that he's talking about is the Torah and the prophets, the Old Testament, that's the only scripture that exist and things i call them in our ministries I called them the dictionary. It is the only dictionary that they have so when John, the most Jewish of all of the disciples says the Lord's Day, he is able to only be using the definition that he's accustomed to and the only time the term Lord's day or day of god is used in all of the Hebrew Scriptures is talking about theSabbath keeping and when the Messiah comes back.
John says this in Revelation as he says what he was on the Lord's day the very next thought that comes out of that chapter is that he hears a voice on the sound of a trumpet and the Messiah is arriving back on the feast of trumpets which is called the Lord's Day. I don't think it's coincidence It is very likely that either it's on the seventh day, the Saturday, that he is on the Lord's Day or that he's actually been transported to the day of the Lord when the Messiah returns.
In 1 John 5:2, says this, "by this we realize that we love the children of God, whenever we love God, and keep His commandments. (Verse 3) "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his awesome commandments are not grievous." So we begin to see the same exact message again in Genesis: Don't eat from your tree of knowledge of good life, if you'd prefer me you'll do that law.
He says he chose Abraham because he kept the decrees, the ordinances, the commandments, as well as the instructions long before they were ever written down. Yeshua says the same thing, He says in order to enter an eternal life, keep My commandments. John says that if you love Yahweh, you will keep His commandments. It's the only method to prove that you do love Him is if you keep his commandments down-to-earth it even goes beyond that into the 21st century and to our thought processes and he says "by the way, you are American Christians and I know you're going to be there someday."
His commandments aren't burdensome and don't let anybody lie to you. They're not burdensome, you just never taught them. You've been taught that they're grievous but if you retain them through faith they will bless the socks off of you and also that they had done for me for sure.
