Cheap Yet Effective Ground Moles Removal Techniques

By Brian Thompson

One very effective ground moles removal technique comes in the form of killing traps. Yes, they do deliver in getting rid of these nasty diggers but the problem is that there are some homeowners who are after the humane treatment of animals. They do not care how much damage these pests inflict on their lawns and plants. The rather barbaric way of getting rod of moles with the use of traps would greatly violate their belief.

The good news is that there are quite a number of methods that are ironically compassionate. They do not necessarily kill the annoying diggers. Most of them only repel them so that they will relocate to another place and do harm no where near your lawn. Further, compared to traps and commercial repellents, most of these methods require you only to shed a few bucks. Amazingly, you do not even have to spend a single cent for some of them.

Planting daffodils and marigolds in your garden lawn will definitely attract passersby. However, it does the complete opposite to moles, making it an effective mole repellant. These creatures detest the smell of these flowers and will therefore avoid getting near the blossoms. You could not actually expect the planting these flowers will completely free you from moles. But you are assured that they will definitely stay away off areas near these plants.

You can also use water as a ground moles removal method. Watering your lawn often results in moist soil that worms would want to bask in. Since worms are a few of the most favorite grubs of a mole, these diggers will naturally go in those areas where they are enjoying the soil to feast on them. Depriving your lawn from the abundance of water will lessen the earthworms in its underground. And any place where there is less food for the moles to munch on will be avoided by these creatures.

Castor oil is a very good medium to get moles out of your lawn. Mix 6 ounces of castor oil with 2 tablespoons of soap to create a castor concentrate that you can spray into the plants and tunnels so that moles could not get near them. This solution is known to burn the skin of the moles so they will most definitely avoid getting this mixture in their bodies.

Cats are natural predators of moles so having one in your home as a pet would be an advantage. You can either let your cat loose in the yard as they can easily capture one with their innate hunting skills or you can merely use their litter. The smell of cat litter that is deposited in the tunnels dug up by the moles just might send them packing.

If none of these homemade repellants seemed to work their magic at getting those moles away from your precious lawn, it might be high time for you to spend some money on something that just might work. Solar or battery operated vibrating snakes will definitely scare the moles out of your lawn. This ground moles removal technique will act on their weakness to face and fight their prey as they would rather escape any threats of some sort.
