Works Great - WeeRide Co-Pilot Bike Trailer Review

By Lillian Long

This is a great product have not had any problems at all. There are more expensive, perhaps lighter brands, but once you get a working Co Pilot it is a joy. Other than that, we're very happy with this purchase. That would allow me to take it back if I had the same problems with the u-joint/hitch as other reviews described. I just had to send Kent the email receipt from Amazon as a proof of purchase. I realized I could read positive and negative reviews all day and never get my daughter on a bike.

She gets tired and will start to lay against the handlebars instead of holding on. The quality is less to be desired. My son begs me to take it out.

I've had the Co-Pilot for a few weeks now and have done short (round the block a few times), medium (around the neighborhood) and long (8 miles - hey, that's long for a 5-year-old) rides. The child bike DOES tilt (!) at almost 35 degree (seems unsafe) angle. We added an aftermarket kickstand so the bike was more secure when parked. Great purchase Purchased a pair of these for the kids. If the company provides a working hitch, where Part A and Part B actually fit together, I will update my review.

It was shipped fast from Amazon and we were able to use right away.

The next morning it took some convincing that this was not one of daddy's bad ideas. I received it fine but when we tried to ride with child on and the back tire seized, whoever put it together didn't instal the rear sprocket on right. Have only gotten to use it a couple of times, but my 5 year old daughter loves it.

Everything else is just click and lock.

I researched and read reviews of course in deciding on which trailer bike to buy. I was anxious to use the co-pilot, and didn't want to wait yet again for a shipment to replace the entire product so I would have pedals, so after some frustrations with customer service, I finally was offered a credit so I could go buy pedals. It is very fun and great family time!

My husband (who has an engineering degree and is very mechanical) spent about 2 hours trying to get the hitch bolts to fit together properly. Take off the back wheel and remove the axle from the wheels hub you will see the BB's in there these should have a lot of grease but they don't from the factory. Easy to set up, great price, great bike! I like the fact the pedal on the WeeRide is a free-wheel as it allows my daughter to coast if she doesn't feel like pedaling. The only issues that I've had are with the connections to the main bike.
