A Great Summer Deck

By Abigail Beauchamp

If your office now located in the den? Maybe you're forced to put your desk in an already crowded room? Are you running out of room for all your belongings? The weather is getting nice again and it's a good time to consider how you might better use of your existing space. A great way to increase the size of your space is to move things outside. What if you have a beautiful deck out back? A deck can help you reclaim what space you already have.

Moving things outside is a great way to get more space out of your house and is a trendy thing to do. Many people in the country have room in their backyards under an existing or potential structure that could be used. With new metal decking systems there are no spaces between sections. This water-proof seal prevents the weather from hitting the area below. That means that space remains dry and sheltered from the elements.

If you need someplace to put your belongings or just a room to entertain your buddies, your new protected space is a great place to kick back or to put your extra stuff. Of course, that isn't the only point of choosing these new materials over older picks. "These materials are meant to last forever with very little maintenance. They stand up to the elements and will never rot or rust," says Bert Holland of Duraview Decking.

So many choices available! If you choose the old-fashioned look or a new sleek design you can't go wrong. Go with a beautiful glass surface or maybe composite adornments. And the greatest things of all is... you never have to deal with repairing or replacing a single thing! The only thing you will need to do is take a brush and soap a few times a year to keep your new deck completely immaculate looking. "The components never rot or get worn out so you never need to worry about a thing," explains Lenny Owens, a Bergen County Deck Builder. Plus, there are so many choices of coloring that you can truly make this a deck of your own. Find a deck company who has these options available.

Once your deck is finished, there's no end to the ways you can decorate it. Add potted or hanging plants - the water runoff won't harm your aluminum deck like it would wood. Add a table with an umbrella and comfortable chairs, and you're set to enjoy the nice weather. The deck is also the perfect place for your grill, as most decks are built off the kitchen. Add some benches for extra seating, and you're ready to entertain.
