Looking for paradise to enjoy retirement or a winter getaway? Take a look at the small barrier island of Lido Key located just off of Sarasota, Florida. West of downtown Sarasota about two miles is the relaxed yet sophisticated island of Lido Key. It offers people gorgeous beaches, the soothing waters of Gulf of Mexico and the fun dining and shopping destination of St. Armands Circle. Sarasota, Florida is a sophisticated beach town on the west coast of Florida. People can either fly right into Sarasota or about an hour north in Tampa. It is a popular place for northerners looking to escape the harsh winters. 2) Orchid Beach Club - This is one of the finest condo buildings on Lido Key and Sarasota. Finished in 2005 these two towers offer stunning views, luxurious condo units and an array of amenities. Considered by many to be the best beach front condo.

3) Lido Beach Club - This 108 unit building was constructed in 1974. The building is perpendicular to the beach so noth sides of the building can have water and beach views. This is another great place to call home.

4) Lido Presidential - This is another great option if you are looking to spend on the lower end of the price spectrum. Even though it is not on the beach this complex is not very far from it. Residents can walk across the street to play in the sand and waters of the Gulf of Mexico. St. Armands Circle is also not very far away.

5) Ritz Carlton Beach Residences - You know you have made it if you can buy one of these luxurious units. Many consider this to be the finest beach front community in southwest Florida.
